CHRISTIANITY & THE COMMON GOOD

A Western Australian Conference of the Evangelical History Association

CALL FOR PAPERS
The Evangelical History Association of Australia was founded in 1988 to encourage the study of evangelicalism in history and the approach of evangelicals to history. As it was in that Bicentennial year, the history of Christianity in Australia and the West is never far from public debate. For evangelicalism in particular, with its emphasis on activism, the question of what makes up the common good and how Christians have and might serve it are of the first order of importance.

We welcome papers of 20 minutes’ length on the history of Christianity that address the theme of Christianity and the common good in the broadest terms.

Topics might include (but are not limited to) Christianity in all its forms, and:
– public engagement
– church and state
– pluralism and cultural difference
– theological and ecclesial debates
– faith and doubt
– moral and social issues

Please send abstracts of approximately 200 words to Dr Peter Elliott at [email protected].

Closing date for abstracts is Friday 21 September 2018.
