Call for Papers: Empire, Faith and Conflict Conference

 

Empire, Faith and Conflict Conference, 3-5 October 2013

Proposals for Papers, Sessions and Posters should be submitted to the World History Association at http://www.thewha.org/.

 

Papers are invited from scholars and postgraduate students of all historical traditions, periods and genres, including the Ancient, Medieval and Modern ages.

Session themes might include (but are not limited to) imperialism; science and faith; mission; church history; military history; gender studies; colonisation and post-colonialism; trans-national, regional and national histories; historiography; art, artefacts and visual evidence; strategy, security, terrorism and diplomacy; faith in war; and myth and legend.

Call for Papers
Proposals for individual papers are welcomed from a broad range of themes and historical periods.
Scholars are invited to discuss the elements of ‘empire, faith and conflict’ as they can be considered individually in history, or as they intersect with each other.
Proposals for individual papers are due no later than 1 June 2013.

Call for Sessions
Proposals are welcome from groups of scholars who wish to present within a common theme or panel. Sessions should each contain up to three papers.
Proposals for sessions are due no later than 1 June 2013.

Call for Posters
Proposals for research posters are invited for display during the conference.
Posters should be presented on paper stock up to A0 in size (1189 x 844 mm or 46.8 x 33.1 in) and relate to one or more of the conference themes.
Proposals for conference posters are due no later than 23 August 2013.
